IRDC Driving School Rules for the Day

• Be safe!  Not a race day.
• Your car needs a number.  Use blue painters tape provided
• Your first lap should be your slowest, last the fastest
  • Roger Penske called; he won’t be here looking for new drivers
• Helmets are required for student and instructor
• Seatbelts required for student and instructor
• Window up all the way or all the way down.
• Keep your hands and arms inside the car
• Pass only in the passing zones
  • Point by required, yes roll the window down
  • Check your Mirrors!  Especially at passing zones
  • Leave your Ego at the gate, yes that Spec Miata maybe faster in the corners than your GT1 V8 monster
• Enter and exit only at turn 8
  • Exception! Mock start will stage at Pre-grid
• Flags!
  • Checkered Flag displayed at Start Finish Stand AND Turn 4
  • Red Flag means STOP at turn station, wait for directions
  • Black Flag means slow down proceed to paddock
  • Waving Yellow, something bad has happened and it’ll be right in front of you around the corner, slow down and prepare to stop if necessary
  • Standing Yellow, something bad has happened, slow down
• Don’t forget to drink some water!
• If you have a question, ask.  There are no dumb questions
